Schluter-TROBA-PLUS is a robust, durable surface drainage system designed for installation on a sloped surface (waterproofing membrane, slab on grade, etc.). It consists of a polyethylene mat fitted with studs covered by a permeable nonwoven fabric.
The TROBA-PLUS 8G version is equipped with a nonwoven fabric with a mesh of approximately 2 x 2 mm. The space created between the covered studs and the covering ensures particularly effective water drainage.
When laid over a waterproofing layer, the mat protects it: the studs, arranged in a dense grid and in a truncated conical shape, support high compression loads, from 300 kN/m² (30 t/m²) to 390 kN/m² (39 t/m²). The air gap between the studded layer and the nonwoven provides thermal and acoustic insulation, limiting the effects of thermal stresses and promoting an even distribution of loads on the substrate.
The TROBA-PLUS 8 and 8G variants raise the covering by 8 mm, while TROBA-PLUS 12 provides a 12 mm elevation.
TROBA-PLUS effectively masks minor irregularities that could create water ponding (for example, bumps at waterproofing overlaps). However, pronounced defects must be corrected beforehand using a leveling mortar.
