Description

The Schluter-RONDEC profile provides finishing and protection for the external corners of tiled surfaces. It includes an anchoring flange perforated with trapezoidal holes that is embedded in the thin-set mortar beneath the tiles. The visible part features a 1/4" (6 mm) rounded lip along the tiled surface for a neat and secure appearance. RONDEC is available in stainless steel, solid and chrome-plated brass, anodized aluminium, coloured aluminium and textured coloured aluminium, as well as PVC. This range of materials, colours and finishes makes it easy to coordinate with different tiles and grout while allowing decorative accents. Beyond its aesthetic role, the profile protects the tile edge against impacts and mechanical wear. The stainless steel model stands out for its high resistance to wear when used as a protective profile. It can also serve as a stair nosing or as a transition profile between coverings. RONDEC enables transitions, corners or junctions with other coverings such as carpet, wood flooring, natural stone or epoxy resin. The profile includes a grout spacer that helps maintain a consistent gap between the tile and the profile. Note: RONDEC profiles in stainless steel and brass are not equipped with an integrated grout spacer. Coordinated corner pieces, including sink corners and connectors, are available. Matching end caps are also available for the RONDEC stainless steel profile. Maintenance: RONDEC requires no special maintenance and is resistant to mould and fungi. Clean the profiles periodically with a neutral cleaning product. Metal surfaces exposed to the environment or chemical agents should be treated regularly with a neutral cleaner to preserve the appearance of stainless steel and reduce the risk of corrosion. Avoid strong acids (e.g., hydrochloric or hydrofluoric acid) and alkaline cleaners (e.g., bleach, ammonia, chlorine). Do not use abrasive products or tools. Stainless steel surfaces can be restored to a shinier appearance with a chrome polish. Oxidation deposits on exposed brass or aluminium can be removed with a common metal polish, but they will reappear; for chrome-plated brass, anodized aluminium, coloured aluminium and textured coloured aluminium, avoid any abrasive cleaner.
