Description

The Schluter‑RONDEC profile provides finishing and protection for external corners of tiled surfaces. It has a perforated anchoring fin with trapezoidal holes that is embedded into the thin‑set mortar under the tiles. The visible portion features a 1/4" (6 mm) rounded edge along the tiled surface for a neat, safe finish. RONDEC is available in stainless steel, solid and chrome‑plated brass, anodized aluminium, coloured aluminium and textured coloured aluminium, as well as PVC. This range of materials, colours and finishes makes it easy to harmonize with different tiles and grout lines while allowing decorative accents. Besides its aesthetic role, the profile protects tile edges against impact and mechanical wear. The stainless steel version stands out for its high wear resistance when used as a protective profile. It can also be used as a stair nose or as a transition profile between floor coverings. RONDEC enables transitions, corners or junctions with other coverings such as carpet, hardwood flooring, natural stone or epoxy resin. The profile incorporates a grout spacer that helps maintain a consistent gap between the tile and the profile. Note: RONDEC profiles in stainless steel and brass are not supplied with an integrated grout spacer. Coordinated corner pieces, including sink corners and connectors, are available. Matching end caps are also offered for the stainless steel RONDEC profile. Maintenance: RONDEC requires no special maintenance and is resistant to mould and fungi. Clean profiles periodically with a neutral cleaning agent. Metal surfaces exposed to the environment or chemicals should be regularly treated with a neutral cleaner to preserve the stainless steel appearance and reduce corrosion risk. Avoid strong acids (e.g., hydrochloric or hydrofluoric acid) and alkaline cleaners (e.g., bleach, ammonia, chlorine). Do not use abrasive products or tools. Stainless steel surfaces can regain a brighter appearance with a chrome polish. Oxidation deposits on exposed brass or aluminium can be removed with a common metal polish, but they will reappear; for chrome‑plated brass, anodized aluminium, coloured aluminium and textured coloured aluminium, avoid abrasive cleaners.
