Description

Schluter-RONDEC is a finishing and protective profile designed for external corners of tiled surfaces. It features an anchoring flange perforated with trapezoidal holes that is embedded into the thin-set mortar under the tiles, and its visible face has a rounded edge with a 1/4" (6 mm) radius along the tile. The profile is available in stainless steel, solid and chrome-plated brass, anodized aluminium, coloured and textured-coloured aluminium, as well as PVC, offering a wide range of materials and finishes to coordinate with tiles and grout or to create decorative accents. Beyond its aesthetic function, RONDEC protects tile edges from mechanical stresses. The stainless steel version stands out for its high wear resistance and can also be used as a stair nosing or as a transition profile. RONDEC enables transitions, corners or picture rails with other coverings such as carpet, hardwood, natural stone or epoxy resins, and incorporates a grout spacer that promotes a uniform gap between the tile and the profile. Note: stainless steel and brass profiles do not include an integrated grout spacer. Matching corner pieces and connectors, including sink corners, are available, as well as matching end caps for the stainless steel RONDEC. Maintenance: RONDEC requires no special care and resists mould and mildew; periodic cleaning with a neutral cleaner is sufficient. Steel surfaces exposed to ambient air or to aggressive chemicals should be cleaned regularly with a neutral cleaner to preserve the appearance of the stainless steel and reduce the risk of corrosion. Avoid strong acids (e.g., hydrochloric or hydrofluoric acid) and alkaline cleaners (e.g., bleach, ammonia, chlorine), as well as abrasive products and tools. Stainless steel surfaces can be refreshed with a chrome polishing agent. Oxidation deposits on exposed brass or aluminium can be removed with an ordinary metal polish but may reappear; for chrome-plated brass, anodized aluminium and coloured or textured-coloured aluminium finishes, avoid abrasive cleaners.
