Description

The Schluter‑RONDEC profile provides finishing and protection for the external corners of tiled surfaces. It includes an anchoring flange perforated with trapezoidal holes that is embedded into the thin‑set mortar beneath the tiles. The visible portion has a 1/4\" (6 mm) radius along the tiled surface, giving a neat and secure finish. RONDEC is available in stainless steel, solid and chrome‑plated brass, anodized aluminium, coloured aluminium and textured coloured aluminium, as well as PVC. This range of materials, colours and finishes makes it easy to harmonize with different tiles and grout lines while allowing decorative accents. In addition to its aesthetic role, the profile protects the tile edge from impacts and mechanical wear. The stainless steel model stands out for its high wear resistance when used as a protective profile. It can also serve as a stair nosing or as a transition profile between coverings. RONDEC can be used for transitions, corners or junctions with other coverings such as carpet, wood flooring, natural stone or epoxy resin. The profile includes a grout spacer that helps maintain a regular gap between the tile and the profile. Note: RONDEC profiles in stainless steel and brass do not include an integrated grout spacer. Coordinated corner pieces, including sink corners and connectors, are available. Matching end caps are also available for the RONDEC stainless steel profile. Maintenance: RONDEC does not require special maintenance and resists mould and fungal growth. Periodically clean the profiles with a neutral cleaning agent. Metal surfaces exposed to the atmosphere or to chemicals should be treated regularly with a neutral cleaner to preserve the appearance of stainless steel and reduce the risk of corrosion. Avoid strong acids (e.g. hydrochloric or hydrofluoric acid) and alkaline cleaners (e.g. bleach, ammonia, chlorine). Do not use abrasive products or tools. Stainless steel surfaces can be restored to a shinier appearance using a chrome polish. Oxidation deposits on exposed brass or aluminium can be removed with a common polishing agent, but they will reappear; for chrome‑plated brass, anodized aluminium, coloured aluminium and textured coloured aluminium, avoid abrasive cleaners.
