Description

Schluter-QUADEC is a finishing and protection profile designed for external corners of tiled surfaces. It features an anchoring flange perforated with trapezoidal holes that embeds into the thin-set mortar under the tiles, and its visible face presents a square edge along the tile. The profile is available in stainless steel, structured-finish stainless steel, anodized aluminum and colored textured aluminum. It brings a modern style and contrasting effects, and can be coordinated with the QUADEC-FS strip profile as well as the DESIGNLINE edge profile to multiply aesthetic options. Beyond its decorative role, QUADEC protects tile edges from mechanical stress. The stainless steel version offers high wear resistance when used as an edge protector; the profile can also serve as a stair nosing or as a transition between two floor coverings. QUADEC also allows for transitions, corners or trims with other materials (carpet, hardwood, natural stone, epoxy resin coatings). The profile incorporates a grout spacer ensuring a uniform joint between the tile and the profile. Note: the stainless steel version does not include an integrated grout spacer. Inside/outside corners and matching connectors are available. Maintenance: Schluter-QUADEC requires no special care and resists mould and fungi. Clean the profiles periodically with a neutral cleaning agent. Steel surfaces exposed to ambient air or aggressive chemicals should be cleaned regularly with a neutral cleaner to preserve appearance and reduce the risk of corrosion. Avoid strong acids (e.g., hydrochloric, hydrofluoric) and alkaline cleaners (e.g., bleach, ammonia, chlorine). Do not use abrasive cleaners or tools. Stainless steel can be restored to extra shine with a chrome polish. Oxidation films on aluminum can be removed with a common metal polish but will reappear; for anodized and colored aluminum, avoid abrasive cleaners.
