Description

Schluter-QUADEC is a finishing and protective profile designed for the external corners of tiled surfaces. It has a perforated anchoring flange with trapezoidal holes that embeds into the thin-set mortar beneath the tiles, and its visible face presents a square edge along the tile. The profile is available in stainless steel, structured-finish stainless steel, anodized aluminum and textured, colored aluminum. It offers a modern style and contrast effects, and can be coordinated with the QUADEC-FS strip profile as well as the DESIGNLINE edge profile to extend aesthetic options. Beyond its decorative role, QUADEC protects tile edges from mechanical stress. The stainless steel version provides high wear resistance when used as edge protection; the profile can also serve as a stair nosing or as a transition between two floor coverings. QUADEC also enables transitions, corners or picture rails with other materials (carpet, hardwood, natural stone, epoxy resin coatings). The profile includes a grout spacer that guarantees a consistent joint between the tile and the profile. Note: the stainless steel version does not include an integrated grout spacer. Matching internal/external corners and connectors are offered. Maintenance: Schluter-QUADEC requires no special care and resists mold and fungi. Clean the profiles periodically with a neutral cleaning product. Steel surfaces exposed to ambient air or aggressive chemicals should be cleaned regularly with a neutral cleaner to preserve appearance and reduce the risk of corrosion. Avoid strong acids (e.g.: hydrochloric, hydrofluoric) and alkaline cleaners (e.g.: bleach, ammonia, chlorine). Do not use abrasive cleaners or tools. Stainless steel can regain extra shine with a chrome polish. Oxide films on aluminum can be removed with a common polishing agent but may reappear; for anodized and colored aluminum, avoid abrasive cleaners.
