Description

Schluter-QUADEC is a finishing and protective profile designed for the external corners of tiled surfaces. It features an anchoring flange perforated with trapezoidal holes that is embedded in the thin-set mortar beneath the tiles, and its visible face presents a square edge along the tile. The profile is available in stainless steel, brushed-finish stainless steel, anodized aluminium and textured coloured aluminium. It offers a modern style and contrast effects, and can be coordinated with the QUADEC-FS strip profile as well as the DESIGNLINE edge profile to expand aesthetic options. Beyond its decorative function, QUADEC protects tile edges from mechanical stress. The stainless steel version provides high wear resistance when used as an edge protector; the profile can also serve as a stair nosing or as a transition between two floor coverings. QUADEC also enables transitions, corners or mouldings with other materials (carpet, hardwood, natural stone, epoxy resin coatings). The profile includes a grout spacer to ensure a consistent joint between the tile and the profile. Note: the stainless steel version does not include an integrated grout spacer. Matching inside/outside corners and connectors are available. Maintenance: Schluter-QUADEC requires no special care and resists mould and fungi. Periodically clean profiles using a neutral cleaning agent. Steel surfaces exposed to ambient air or aggressive chemicals should be cleaned regularly with a neutral cleaner to preserve appearance and reduce the risk of corrosion. Avoid strong acids (e.g., hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid) and alkaline cleaners (e.g., bleach, ammonia, chlorine). Do not use abrasive cleaners or tools. Stainless steel can regain extra shine with a chrome polishing product. Oxide films on aluminium can be removed with a common polishing agent but will reappear; for anodized and coloured aluminium, avoid abrasive cleaners.
