Description

The Schluter-KERDI-DRAIN is a shower drain designed to connect to KERDI waterproofing membranes or other bonded carrier membranes. The membrane is bonded to the wide integrated flange to create a watertight joint at the top of the drain assembly. The kit includes a drain body and either a fully adjustable grate or a tile support intended to receive tile. The grate adapts to a range of covering thicknesses and allows lateral and tilt adjustments, while the tile support sits at flange level and can accept tiles of any thickness. The standard model mounts directly onto the drainage pipe. Drain bodies are available in ABS, PVC or stainless steel. The plastic bodies feature a bonding flange covered with non-woven fabric and are available with standard 2" (50 mm) or 3" (75 mm) outlets, to be solvent-welded. Stainless steel bodies are offered with standard 2" (50 mm) or 3" (75 mm) no-hub outlets, or with a threaded 2" (50 mm) outlet. No-hub outlets connect to the pipe with an appropriate mechanical fitting (e.g. flexible coupler or no-hub fitting); threaded outlets are sealed using a thread sealant or suitable tape. Compatibility with standard drainage outlets makes KERDI-DRAIN suitable for both new construction and renovation projects. The KERDI-DRAIN grate consists of a frame adjustable in height and laterally (height adjustment collar and lateral adjustment ring) and one or more grate elements or cleaning covers that insert into the frame. The standard 100 mm (4") frame leaves an exposed gap of about 3 mm after installation. Grate/frame combinations are available in CLASSIC stainless steel or CONTOUR anodized aluminum, with multiple finishes. The KERDI-DRAIN-STYLE 4" (100 mm) brushed stainless steel frame provides a minimal visible gap once installed and is available with three grate patterns: FLORAL (E), CURVE (F) or PURE (G), and in various metallic and colored finishes. The 100 mm (4") TILE grate is a square stainless steel plate with KERDI laminated for bonding tile, offering an almost invisible drainage line. The 6" (150 mm) square and round assembly frames leave an exposed gap of about 3/16" (5 mm) after installation and accept CLASSIC-style grates or a square cleaning cover. Note: the 6" (150 mm) grates and those used with the 5-1/4" (133.4 mm) adapter kits permit only vertical and tilt adjustment, without lateral adjustment.
