Description

The Schluter‑DILEX‑HKS profile incorporates a flexible thermoplastic rubber movement zone retained to the profile body by rigid rubber anchors. This design allows increased movement at floor/wall junctions and internal wall corners. DILEX‑HKS profiles prevent ingress of surface water and meet the hygiene and maintenance requirements of commercial kitchens, bathrooms, food‑processing plants, hospitals, or any location requiring a rounded sanitary base. Available accessories include internal and external corners, connectors, and end caps. 90° external corners with 6" (150 mm) precut sections are offered by special order. Maintenance: The DILEX‑HKS profile requires no special maintenance; it is resistant to mold and fungi. Clean with a common household cleaner. Stainless steel surfaces exposed to ambient air or aggressive chemicals should be cleaned periodically with a mild household cleaner: regular maintenance preserves the appearance of the stainless steel and reduces the risk of corrosion. Avoid any product containing hydrochloric or hydrofluoric acid. Stainless steel regains extra shine with a chrome polish. The central rubber insert of DILEX‑HKS is replaceable. Installation: 1. Select the profile suitable for the tile thickness and format. 2. Apply thin‑set mortar with a notched trowel where the perforated anchor fins will be positioned. 3. Press the anchor fin into the thin‑set mortar. Note: Before laying the tiles, install internal and external corners, connectors, and end caps. Attach DILEX‑HKS accessories using an elastic waterproof adhesive (e.g. KERDI‑FIX or silicone). Remove any substance that could impair adhesion (e.g., grease). Connectors must overlap the profiles by at least 3/8" (10 mm). 4. Spread thin‑set mortar where the tiles will be laid. 5. Embed the tiles to ensure full support of the edges and to achieve a flush surface with the profile, leaving a gap of about 1/16" to 1/8" (1.5 to 3 mm) between the tile and the profile. 6. Completely fill the joint with grout or mortar.
