Description

The Schluter‑DITRA‑HEAT membrane combines the properties of the DITRA membrane — uncoupling, waterproofing, vapor management and support — within a customizable, comfortable electric floor heating system for durable installations. Floor heating DITRA‑HEAT combines the flexibility of a loose heating cable with the simplicity of a membrane. The heating cables can be positioned according to the desired layout without creating a buildup in the floor. It is not necessary to cover the cables with a self-leveling compound, which makes installation faster and easier. Uncoupling Uncoupling is a proven technique to absorb shear stresses. Thanks to its geometry, DITRA‑HEAT allows horizontal movements that neutralize differential stresses between the substrate and the tile — the main cause of cracks and debonding. Waterproofing Made of polypropylene, the membrane provides a reliable barrier against moisture and protects the substrate — an important point since many modern substrates are sensitive to moisture. Vapor management The cavities under DITRA‑HEAT allow excess moisture and vapor from the substrate to escape, preventing damage to the covering. The membrane effectively manages moisture beneath the tile. Support/load distribution On a suitable substrate, columns of mortar form on and between the membrane's studs, transferring the tile load to the substrate. Once the tiled assembly is in place, DITRA‑HEAT is virtually incompressible and ensures uncoupling without compromising load distribution. Various floor coverings with DITRA‑HEAT DITRA‑HEAT is compatible with engineered wood, vinyl, wood-plastic composite (WPC), luxury vinyl tile (LVT) or plank (LVP), stone-plastic composite (SPC) tiles or planks, and laminate floors.
