Schluter‑KERDI‑DRAIN is a floor drain designed to connect to the KERDI waterproofing membrane or other load-bearing waterproof membranes. It features a wide bonding flange to which the KERDI membrane is adhered to ensure a watertight connection to the tiled surface. The system consists of a drain body and a fully adjustable grate assembly or a tileable cover plate. The grate assembly accommodates different tile thicknesses and offers lateral and tilt adjustment; the tileable cover plate, set flush with the flange, is suitable for tiles of any thickness. The standard drain body connects directly to the waste pipe and is available in ABS, PVC, or stainless steel. The plastic bodies have a non-woven bonded flange. Standard outlet sizes are 2" (50 mm) and 3" (75 mm) and connect to piping by appropriate solvent welding. Stainless steel bodies are offered with standard no-hub outlets of 2" (50 mm) and 3" (75 mm) as well as a 2" (50 mm) threaded outlet; the no-hub outlet connects using a flexible elbow or suitable mechanical coupling, while the threaded outlet is sealed with thread sealant or tape. These connection options make KERDI‑DRAIN suitable for both new construction and renovation projects. The KERDI‑DRAIN adapter assembly converts a traditional clamping‑ring drain into a drain with an integrated bonding flange. It includes a stainless steel adapter ring with a rubber gasket and perforations compatible with common shower drains. This ring replaces the clamping ring and is fastened to the drain body with nuts; sealing is provided by the rubber gasket and Schluter‑KERDI‑FIX adhesive/sealant. The integrated flange is embedded into the gasket to create a watertight assembly. Adapter assemblies are available in diameters of 5‑1/4" (133 mm) and 7‑1/2" (191 mm) and are especially useful when the clamping ring is difficult to replace (for example, cast into a slab). They are suitable for mortar‑bed installations as well as KERDI‑SHOWER‑T/-TS/-TT shower bases. The grate assembly features a frame adjustable in height and laterally using adjustment rings, and a grate or removable strainer cover that drops into the frame. The standard 4" (100 mm) assembly leaves a visible surface of approximately 1/8" (3 mm) when installed; it is available in stainless steel (raw, chrome, nickel, classic gold, antique gold, rose gold, oiled bronze) and in anodized aluminum (brushed nickel, brushed copper, brushed brass). The STYLE 4" (100 mm) frame offers a minimal visible surface and is offered with three grates: Floral (E), Curve (F), and Pure (G). STYLE grates are available in brushed stainless steel (raw, nickel, classic gold, antique gold, rose gold) and in textured colored aluminum (stone gray, cream, greige, bronze, matte black, matte white). The 4" stainless steel tileable plate covered with KERDI membrane allows for a nearly invisible drain when tiled. Round or square 6" (150 mm) stainless frames leave a visible surface of about 3/16" (5 mm) and accept stainless grates or strainer covers. Note: grate assemblies supplied with the plastic KERDI‑DRAIN model with a 3" (75 mm) outlet and with the residential adapter assembly provide only vertical and tilt adjustment (no lateral adjustment). Maintenance: KERDI‑DRAIN, KERDI‑DRAIN‑H, KERDI‑LINE and SHOWERPROFILE‑S/-R require no special maintenance and resist mold and fungi. The grate is easily removable for cleaning the drain, channel and waste pipe. Clean grates and profiles with a neutral cleaner; avoid strong acids (e.g. hydrochloric or hydrofluoric acid) and alkaline cleaners (e.g. bleach, ammonia, chlorine). Do not use abrasive products or tools. Even stainless steel requires periodic cleaning to preserve its appearance and reduce the risk of corrosion; using a chrome polish will restore its shine.
