The latter form dovetail anchors on the lower face to secure the thin-set mortar. The thin-set must be applied to the substrate with a 6 x 6 mm notched trowel, then the Schluter-DITRA-DRAIN 4 mat is embedded in the mortar. The upper white non-woven fabric receives the bonding mortar for the covering: permeable to water and vapour, it accelerates mortar drying while limiting water rise into the covering (passive capillarity principle). Thanks to their small spacing, the conical studs withstand pressures up to 50 t\/m², and the dovetail anchors ensure excellent adhesion to the substrate.
