Thanks to its geometry, DITRA‑HEAT allows horizontal movements that neutralize differential stresses between the substrate and the tile — the main cause of cracks and debonding.\n\nWaterproofing\n\nMade of polypropylene, the membrane provides a reliable barrier against moisture and protects the substrate — an important point since many modern substrates are sensitive to moisture.\n\nVapor management\n\nThe cavities under DITRA‑HEAT allow excess moisture and vapor from the substrate to escape, preventing damage to the covering. The membrane effectively manages moisture beneath the tile.\n\nSupport\/load distribution\n\nOn a suitable substrate, columns of mortar form on and between the membrane's studs, transferring the tile load to the substrate.
