Any modification changes its resistance, may damage it and can cause overheating.\n- It is possible to lay the cable by alternating spacings of three then two studs in certain areas or across the whole floor to increase power (e.g., over an uninsulated subfloor or concrete) or to use a longer cable when a three-stud spacing prevents maintaining minimum distances from walls and partitions.\n- A four-stud spacing is not recommended, as it may cause uneven heating.\n- Respect the following minimum clearances: walls, partitions and fixed cabinets 2\\\" (50 mm); heat sources (electric baseboards, fireplaces, forced-air heating systems, etc.) 8\\\" (200 mm); floor drains and forced-air ducts 4\\\" (100 mm); centreline of toilet drains 7\\\" (180 mm).\n- NEVER install cable under vanities without ventilation clearance, under bath platforms or freestanding tubs without ventilation clearance, nor in cabinets, islands, small storage spaces or closets where the floor covering continues: these enclosed spaces can cause overheating.\n- NEVER run the cable under or inside a wall, a partition or through a floor.\n- NEVER place the splice (the black plastic piece connecting the cold lead to the grey cable) inside a wall; it must be fully embedded under the floor covering, in accordance with the installation instructions.\n- Provide a buffer zone — e.g., behind a toilet or near a door — to hide excess cable and avoid heating a nonessential area. Cables can also be laid 6\\\" (150 mm) from walls to create this buffer zone.\n- Test the cable while it is still on its spool and at two other stages of installation to verify its integrity and to protect the warranty. A megohmmeter is required for the insulation resistance test; its use is strongly recommended.\n- Consult a qualified electrician before ordering DITRA-HEAT cables to select the voltage appropriate for your installation.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Emard","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":52884548124990,"sku":"DHEHK120113","price":853.68,"currency_code":"CAD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0872\/1976\/5566\/files\/emard-Emard-DHEHK120113.jpg?v=1768491353","url":"https:\/\/www.emardcp.com\/en\/products\/schluter-ditra-heat-e-hk-cble-de-plancher-chauffant-lectrique-120v-3722-1126-pi-dhehk120113","provider":"Emard Couvre-Planchers","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
